Description
A Ring Type Current Transformer (CT) is a type of instrument transformer designed in a circular (ring or donut) shape, through which the primary conductor or cable passes. The conductor itself acts as the primary winding, while the CT has a secondary winding wound on a magnetic core to step down high current to a standard low value for safe measurement and protection.
